Many older homes in Philadelphia and Delaware County heat with boilers and radiators or baseboard. These systems are durable, but they rely on correct water pressure, working circulator pumps and clean combustion, and they get cranky when any of those drift.
We diagnose boiler problems from the controls out: thermostat, aquastat, circulator, expansion tank, relief valve and burner. We will explain what we find and what it takes to fix it.

Common questions
Why are my radiators cold but the boiler is running?
Trapped air in the system, a failed circulator, a stuck zone valve or low water level can all leave radiators cold. Diagnosis starts with the pump and zone controls.
What should the pressure on my boiler read?
Boiler pressure ranges vary by system, so check your boiler's manufacturer specifications. Pressure that keeps rising or falling points to a problem.
Is water around my boiler an emergency?
A small drip from a valve is common, but active leaking, rust-colored water or steam deserves prompt attention. Shut off the boiler if it is safe to do so and call for service.
